From Holla to Hope to Healing: How to Help a Loved One with Depression
This session will focus on how caregivers can provide support to loved ones with depression while assisting themselves in the process. Participants will be equipped with the necessary tools to effectively and appropriately create a caring and supportive environment to their loved ones experiencing depression. We will also explore how caregivers can create healing spaces for themselves to re-energize, re-focus and re-new their efforts in their support. Throughout the session, participants will be encouraged to share their stories, identify supportive networks and work collaboratively with others towards a plan of action.
Attachment and Trauma: The Father Wound (Preachers in Pain)
- To explore the concept of “father wound” in relationship to father engagement, responsible fatherhood, and healthy family relationships.
- To investigate the concept of “father wound” in relationship to attachment and trauma.
- To explore strategies and interventions that practitioners and other interested persons can practically implement in their program and lives.
A Spiritual Path Out of Depression
This session will review mental, emotional, and spiritual components of depression. We will review examples of people who dealt with depression in the bible and talk about ways we can partner with God on the path out of depression.
